History

Innsbrook, Virginia

Innsbrook is a planned community located in Henrico County, Virginia. The history of Innsbrook begins in the late 1970s, when developers Morton G. Thalhimer, Jr. and Fred T. Morton began envisioning a new kind of office park. The goal was to create a dynamic and innovative environment that would attract businesses and residents alike.

The development of Innsbrook started in 1982, with the construction of the first office building. Situated on over 850 acres of land, Innsbrook saw rapid growth and became a major hub for businesses in the Richmond area. As more companies set up their offices in the park, additional commercial and retail spaces were built to accommodate the demand.

It offered a mix of single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments. Over the years, several other neighborhoods were developed, providing a range of housing options for residents.

The community's popularity also led to the establishment of amenities and recreational facilities. Numerous restaurants, shops, and hotels were built to cater to the needs of both residents and employees. Additionally, Innsbrook features several parks, lakes, walking trails, and even an amphitheater, providing opportunities for outdoor activities and community events.

In 1992, the Innsbrook Foundation was established to oversee community development and organize various events throughout the year. They host events such as the Innsbrook After Hours concert series, the Innsbrook Craft Beer Festival, and the Great Pumpkin Palooza.

Today, Innsbrook continues to be a thriving economic and residential community in Henrico County. Its strategically planned layout, convenient location near major highways, and numerous amenities have made it an attractive destination for businesses and residents alike.
